Plattsburgh Blues and Jazz is so very excited to present one of the TOP acts in Blues and Soul today, VICTOR WAINWRIGHT and THE TRAIN at Olive Ridleys on Sunday June 30th at 7PM. Victor is the top band in the Blues today with a Grammy nomination this year for being the Best in Contemporary Blues., He has a stack of Blues music awards including four "Piano Player of the Year" Awards as well as the pinnacle awards of "Band of the Year" and  "Entertainer of the Year".  This will be an EXTRA SPECIAL festival performance since Victor is bringing in his incredible horn section, the famous Doug Woolverton on trumpet and Mark Earley on Baritone saxophone. Plattsburgh Blues and Jazz is having a post Mayors Cup Concert Bash and Party with one of the TOP Live show performers in the world of Blues, Castro Coleman aka Mr. Sipp The Mississippi Blues Child. He was the winner of the 2016  International Blues Challenge for "Best Band" as well as recipient of the coveted "Albert King Gibson Guitar Award", and Blues Music Award for"Best New Artist". He tours all over the world and is known for his high energy stage shows and the excitement that he he brings to the stage . He combines Chuck Berry with Muddy Waters with moves that rivals Michael Jackson the stage energy of James Brown and the guitar voice of BB King. It's not just blues, he is Gospel trained and has a range from the secular to electric rock to funky RnB. Mr. Sipp and his band will be the headline act for Mayor's Cup on Saturday night but you will want to see him up close in this cool two story club with a large stage on Sunday for a post Mayors Cup PB&J Party. The 2018 Winner of the International Blues Challenge of Best Band is bringing forth their high energy style of blues, funk and Motown stirred with some southern soul and a whole lot of dancing energy. This is a big nine piece band with 4 horns and a gospel trained vocalist that will stir your soul and shake the joint. Advance tickets are only 12 dollars and 15 dollars the day of the show.
