Kevin Burt, the triple first-place winner of the International Blues Challenge, returns to the stage at the Chateaugay Town Hall Theater alongside his full band, Big Medicine, for a night of incredible Soul, Funk and Blues. He is known for his big voice, masterful guitar skills, heartfelt lyrics, and funky grooves that leave audiences spellbound.   His latest album, "Thank You Mr. Bill," is dedicated to the legendary Bill Withers and at the top of the Billboard charts. This year, he is acknowledged with a nomination for Best Acoustic Artist at the Blues Music Awards. His talent is recognized far and wide, gracing stages and festivals nationwide. He performed at the Chateaugay Theater two years ago,  but this time, he is bringing his internationally acclaimed band, Big Medicine, to funk it up.    Kevin will spend the day at Chateaugay Central School, delivering his national TED talk about music in schools. Plus, he'll collaborate with the school band for a joint performance on the same stage later that evening. Plattsburgh Blues and Jazz support this performance, and it is all about Big Love, award-winning national live music, and music in the schools.

On Saturday April 20th, the Danielle Nicole band will be back at Retro Live in Plattsburgh NY!!! This will be an incredible triple show with Kevin Burt and his band, Big Medicine, and Soulful Femme as the grand openers.

Danielle Nicole is the 2019 Grammy Nominee for Best Contemporary Blues Album and seven time Blues Music Award winner, Independent Music Award Winner for best RnB album and best RnB song. She hails from Kansas City and is a powerhouse singer, songwriter, bassist and is known for her astounding vocals, exquisite musicianship as well as captivating stage presence that leaves listeners breathless. The Danielle Nicole Band is on of hottest touring bands around, a festival favorite and headlines all over the world. Her stunning new album, The Love You Bleed has hit number one on the Billboard and iTunes and Spotify charts. Kevin Burt is a three-time winner at the International Blues Challenge and is nominated for Acoustic Artist of the Year. His latest album is a tribute to Bill Withers, "Thank You Mr. Bill" that is also a chart topper. Soulfull Femme is composed of the powerful duo of Stevee Wellons on vocals and Cheryl Rinovato on guitar. This is going to be an extraordinary concert with three of the best bands and voices in blues today each one doing their new album release show.

John Primer and the Real Deal Band are coming to Retro Live in Plattsburgh, NY, on Friday night, May 31st. He is a living legend in music, an icon in modern Electric Chicago Blues. He was the bandleader and lead guitarist for Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Magic Slim & The Teardrops. This year, he got his third Grammy Nomination for his latest album, "Teardrops for Magic Slim." He has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, received numerous Blues Music Awards, and has recorded or participated in over 95 albums. He is bringing in his legendary band from Chicago, which includes harmonica blues royalty Steve Bell.

Celebrate Juneteenth with a concert featuring the Blackburn Brothers at Retro Live on June 19th, starting at 7 pm.  The Blackburn Brothers are award-winning 4th generation Canadian band of brothers, descended from freedom seekers through the Underground Railroad. Their songs resonate the messages from history, freedom, legacy, family, black unity and love.  Their latest album, SoulFunkn'BLUES, has gathered international acclaim, a 2024 JUNO nomination for Blues Album of the Year, as well as three American 2024 Blues Music Awards nominations for Album of the Year, SoulBlues Album of the Year, and Song of Year. This band will get you dancing; it's all about history, blues, soul, groove, rhythm, and life.  Plattsburgh and the North Country were closely associated with the underground railroad and escaped from slavery to Canada, and more to be added to celebrate this day of emancipation.
